You’re Not Bad at Manifesting — You’re Just a First-Born Daughter

Hey fellow adventurer 💌

Can I be honest with you?

For a long time, I genuinely thought I was just... bad at manifesting.
Like, everyone around me seemed to be journaling, vision boarding, meditating their way into dream lives — and meanwhile, I was stuck in the same cycles, doing everything right and still getting nowhere.

It made me feel broken. Like I didn’t believe hard enough. Or maybe I just wasn’t meant for more.

But then one day, it hit me —
What if it wasn’t about me doing it wrong...
What if I was just carrying way too much?

The Eldest Daughter Curse (and Superpower)

If you're the first-born daughter (especially in an immigrant family), you already know what I’m about to say.

We’re the ones who grew up fast.
The built-in babysitters. The quiet translators. The emotional buffers. The designated “mature” ones even when we were just kids.
We learned how to be helpful, how to stay out of the way, how to work hard and take care of everyone else first.

And somewhere along the way, we internalized this idea that our own desires… could wait.

So of course manifestation feels hard.
It’s not that you don’t have big dreams.
It’s just that no one ever gave you permission to prioritize them.

Manifesting Isn’t Broken — You’re Just Tired

Here’s what I think now:

We were taught that being good meant being selfless — even if it meant self-abandonment.

So when we try to manifest rest, joy, money, love, softness... our nervous system goes:
“Wait, that feels dangerous. That’s selfish. That’s not safe.”

But it is safe now. And it’s more than okay to want more.

You don’t need to fix yourself. You don’t need to work harder.
You just need to slowly unlearn the weight of being “the responsible one.”

A Soft Reminder, From Me to You

💗 You’re allowed to rest.
💗 You’re allowed to receive without over-explaining.
💗 You’re allowed to want things just because they light you up.

You’re not bad at manifesting.
You’re just a first-born daughter who’s been in survival mode for way too long.

And now? It’s your turn.
Not to save the world — but to create yours.

And if you’re not already signed up for my newsletter, Wengie’s Quest Log, I’d love to have you there. I send out cozy storytelling prompts, creative tools, and gentle reminders that your dreams matter — and you don’t have to chase them alone 💫
